Question Help with memory stick loss

Hello,

I had my memory stick stolen today - it was encrypted - but unfortunately has all of my work on it...I am currentky trying everything to retrieve it but in case i cant i wondered if opening files on the PC woukd leave any trace that couldbe found and copied... I did not save them on my PC but they obviously appear in recent files... Silly question but could i get these files back...?

If they were never stored on the PC at any point, then chances are no, you wont be able to recover anyway.
If its important data I recommend storing it in more than one place going forward.

"Recent files" simply acts as a shorcut. If the original location those shortcuts lead to aren't present, then you won't be able to open them.
