Hi I have an old system with gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7 motherboard with i7-950 3.07 CPU, and it has DDR3 3X2GB 1600Mhz memory installed on it (KHX1600C9AD3/2G 1.65V) I want to upgrade to the maximum that the motherboard can take which is 24GB, I'm going to buy Kingston HyperX FURY 3X8GB memory.
Is it ok to buy the 1600MHz or the 1866MHz, will any of them work (either the 1600 or the 1866). thx
The manul of the motherboard mentioned that its support the following memory:
6 x 1.5V DDR3 DIMM sockets supporting up to 24 GB of system memory, Support for DDR3 2200/1333/1066/800 MHz memory modules
