ok so went to a computer fair and got all my parts. I got home and my ram slot clip was broken. the next week i went back to the fair and spoke with the guy who sold it to me and he would not take a return. at all not even a replacement board.

I want to talk to asus but i cant make use of their email system and i can't call them either as when i go to motherboards it just says to go to the web site. do you even think asus will replace my board? I hope they will because i have everything but a non working motherboard.
my motherboard is quite a good one too. if it was £45 then fine but its a maximus 7 ranger that cost me £130. i got it because next year i want to get an M.2 and a second gtx 770 and i want to overclock my i5 4690K to 5ghz with an evo 212.

any advice you guys can offer would be great!!!!

Have you tried the board? A broken RAM clip won't stop the board from working. You can even still use the RAM slot.

Also, you will NEVER get a 4690k close to 5ghz on a 212 EVO. You will need to get lucky with a good chip and have a custom water loop to get there. Even then you might not get a good enough chip to get to 5ghz. I would start with stable 4ghz for a beginner with a 212 EVO.
