[SOLVED] Help with monitor/gpu ports.

So I bought a new gpu and have only hdmi and display port slots but my monitor (acer GN246HL) does not have a display port slot, and does not support 144hz through hdmi. Is there a way i can still get 144 hz by way of a dvi splitter or something like that?

could you please provide more details? such as the monitor and gpu specific models.

Monitor is Acer Predator GN246HL 144hz with hdmi, DVI and VGA ports.
GPU is GIGABYTE GAMING GeForce RTX 3060 Ti OC with two hdmi's and two display ports.
*Monitor does not support above 60hz through any HDMI.

My reading suggests not.
Your gpu has the latest hdmi output, but your monitor input does not.

Note also that there are several levels of capabilities of hdmi connection cables.

Honestly this monitor is one big meh. 144 Hz only via DVI... what a shame. You may try to find active HDMI to Dual DVI adapter though it will cost at least a half from your monitor price. Sell this monitor ASAP and get something better instead.
