This is my pure gaming build. I'll have it set up in a spare room and only use it when I'm playing games. When not in use, I'm powering it down. I'd like to make the build as future proof as possible since I'm planning on Crossfire 6950's later (a year or two). I went with it because people say it's a very easy OC mobo. I've never done any OC'ing so I wanted it to be as easy as possible.
CPU: Intel i5-2500K 3.3ghz $224.99
Again, heard this was the best at OC'ing. Easy and powerful for gaming.
CPU Heatsink: Cool Master Hyper 212 $34.99 +7.56 Shipping
This is one area I honestly have no idea. I heard it was a good one, better suggestions here would be greatly appreciated.
GPU: MSI Radeon HD 6950 2GB $279.99 + $8.50 Shipping (also has a $30 MIR)
I want to unlock it to a full Radeon HD 6970.

My idea was to future proof my system as much as I could. Buy 8GB of ram now so I don't have to upgrade later if I only get 4GB.
PSU: Corsair HX Series 750W $139.99 + $5.99 Shipping (Also a $10 MIR)
This was another future proofing idea. Some point down the road I want to Crossfire two 6950's and this PSU gives me the ability to do just that. Also while it's rated at a Silver 80plus certification, it's actually a 90% efficient PSU. Figure, spend a little more now. Save down the road.
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB 7200rpm $64.99
Heard it was the best or one of the best non-SSD hard drives out there.
DVD: Liteon DVD Burner $20.99
Mainly picked it because of free shipping and tons of good reviews. I'll only even use my DVD player to load windows and games on it.
Toss in some Arctic Silver Compound and my grand total before shipping and MIR's (which I figure will about break even) is $1,132.89.
