Help with my CPU and motherboard

So I have bought a Z170-a motherboard from ASUS and they are not selling 6th gen Skylake CPU’s so is there a way I can get a Kaby lake i7 7700k CPU into my motherboard

You will need to update the BIOS on your Z170 board with a Skylake processor part then after the BIOS update drop in your Kabylake processor part. Long process, I know but that's how it should be done.

Can I just put the Kaby lake in then update it with the Kaby lake it is the same socket type

You could try but it'd be a no go since there are a lot of documented cases where you will need a Skylake processor(even if it's a Pentium grade Skylake processor) in order to update the BIOS.

but do they even sell the 6th gen Skylake cpu

Ebay would be a good spot to look or even your local Microcenter. For the latter, you could ask them to update the BIOS for you, for a small fee...? Borrow a processor from a friend? Take it to their house and update your BIOS?
