I know the PSU is overboard. Can someone help me pick a better PSU? My only fear is that the MOBO is Mini and the PSU cables will not be long enough to fit it.

As for the case, is there a better one? I'm looking for 1 with 3.0 USB ports on the outside. (pref mini tower)

This computer will be used to render videos.

Thank you

PSU is fine, pretty much what I would recommend and leaves a bit of room for a low power card later on.
You dont need a GPU on this rig, the CPU has one.
I really doubt there is a better one at that price point.

I agree with Joeteoh, a rendering rig will really benefit from 16GB. Although if this is a secondary machine to your primary editing rig and quick turnaround isnt a priority, it probably doesnt matter.

Thanks, a 16GB will be much benefited.

But don't you think having a GPU can improve the performance speed while rendering with a CPU alone. But please correct me if I am wrong. :)

are you using sony vegas or adobe professional? If so then a GPU is recommended since those programs can make use of the GPU to increase performance, if not then a regular gt 740 would do the job nicely, if programs don't take advantage it makes no sense to spend loads of money on it. a gt 740 would handle all your needs, and perhaps some 720p gaming if need be.
oh and for rendering, 16GB of RAM is like the standard.
try something like this: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/yQvbRB
if you're going to add a GPU I'd suggest doing it later but instead of the PSU in the above build, try this: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seasonic-power-supply-s12ii620bronze
hope this helps.

This computer is actually for my friend's dad.
He does not play any games.
He will only be using this computer to change his movies into DVD format in order to watch on his DVD player.
How much faster will 16 gb benefit? (It is a pretty big price jump)
Will the GPU still benefit him in this situation?

Thanks

Uploading 16GB will benefit and downloading 16GB wouldn't be so much of a benefit.
