Good morning,
I could use a little help with my new AMD desktop build. It's been a good amount of time since I last built a PC (which is why I'm probably have a bit of trouble), so please bare with me. Here are my specs for my new build:
CPU: AMD FX-8350 Vishera 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Eight-Core
MOBO: GIGABYTE GA-880GM-USB3 AM3+ AMD 880G USB 3.0 HDMI Micro ATX AMD
GRAPHICS: ZOTAC ZT-60802-10P GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16
RAM: 2 x Patriot Gamer 2 Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666)
HDD: Western Digital WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
Windows 7 64-bit has been installed, and all components run. The problem I'm having is in CPU clock speed. Windows tells me it is running at 2.81GHZ when it should easily be running at 4GHZ. Here are the specs the bios screen are giving me:
CPU Clock Speed Ration: 4000MHZ
North Bridge: Frequency: 2200MHZ
CPB: 2000MHZ
Now obviously the next step would be to tweak these settings slightly, but every time I do the computer goes into a boot cycle right as it is entering the windows screen, or it wont display anything on the screen while booting.
I'm sorry for the rookie post, but any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
