help with my vaio laptop

I have sony vaio that will not load windows and can not complete vaio recovery. Any one haave any ideas on what i should do to try and fix this problem? do i need a new hard drive?

Sometimes this is a sure sign that there is a failing hard drive.

Other times it can be a corrupt operating system.

One way to tell is to take the drive out and slave it to another computer to try to get the data off it if it's important. If you can't access the drive, or if it freezes up the computer you slave it to, you probable have a hard drive problem.

After the data is secure you can try to do a clean install, formatting the hard drive first, then try to reload Windows. If it fails to load a fresh install them you may need a new hard drive.
