Hi I have a PS4 in my bedroom upstairs and the box is at the bottom of the stairs. I cannot move the box or PS4 as I live with my parents (I'm 14) I have a WIFI booster which has improved my WIFI a bit. Its bad you'll cry when I tell you the speed I get about 5mbps I used to get 2mbps as a download speed. These are the figures on my playstation 4 test. If I bought a powerline adapter will it improve the ping and speed or not. I need it to be quicker. Atm I use a WiFi booster and if I get a powerline I will cable it in to the powerline box. Please could you help because I can't play many games good enough and downloads take about 12hours in rest mode. Thank you

I'll expand on CaptainCharisma's answer: the first step is confirming its the connection between your wireless tiger and the PS4. If you go outta your way to upgrade that, and find out it was your ISP all along, it was all for not.

So first - do a download test on a pc that is wired to your router and check the speeds. If you're getting much faster speeds, then we know it's not your ISP, it's either the wireless or the PS4.

If the ISP is good, check speed on another wireless device in there same vicinity as your PS4 (laptop, iPhone, etc). If they operate fine, it may just be your PS4. Is it in a cabinet killing wireless signals? Are certain ports closed on your firewall? Dunno.

But first, narrow down for us where the problem could be.
