Question Help with new build issue

Hey guys
I recently put together a budget gaming rig and got it all together and it acts like there is no power at all, no lights, no fans nothing. I metered the power sw LED pins and im getting 3volts but yet the lights arnt coming on. I tested the lights them selves and they test good, is there anyway i can test the board to determine if its bad? The psu tested fine so im thinking its the board but want to make sure, its the vdh pro .

Hi, Since no lights on board when connected to the power supply... Was it new, or used?

It was a used board i got on ebay

Is there not a way i can test it to be sure?

Try connecting a case fan to it, the 24 pin power cable, starting the board by shorting the 2 pins and see if the case fan does spin.

Should i leave the 4+4 cpu connector off as well

Try firstly without it.

Nothing. Id say odds are the board is shot?

Update question lol so i got the new mother board and i started pulling the cpu fan and the cpu cane with the fan lol i guess it wasnt locked in the socket, so my question is can that cause the issue i was having that made me believe the board was shot?

It could have caused a short. Have you tested it again?

No not yet , im just gunna set it aside for my next build and try it again. I was so frustrated when i realized it wasnt in the socket and it was probably my fault i didnt wanna mess with it haha just curious
