Hello all,
My cousin is planning on upgrading or building a new rig around Christmas time. I was going to help him with it. He has nearly the same specs as me currently:

AMD FX-6300 @ 3.5GHz
GTX 760
M5A99X Evo R2.0
750W PSU

Anyways, here are his options:
-He can simply buy a FX-8350 and a GTX 980.
-If he builds a new build, his case will be $120, a new motherboard will be around $160, and his new CPU (i7 4790k) will be $160 more than a Fx-8350 upgrade.

With this being said, should he build a new system for $440 (if not a bit more than that) or upgrade to the FX-8350 and call it a day? I personally thought upgrading to an 8350 was the best idea but I wanted to get some opinions here before I helped him out.

Solution
the FX-6300 it good actually it is you opinon if you want to go with 8 core but 6 core is more than enough for gaming (unless you will edit videos ) .. but the 980 is way batter than the 760 ... and the 750w is over kill ,, 550 or 600 w is enough for your build :) hope this helps
