Question help with new ram sticks

currently using 2x8 sticks of corsair 3200 mhz ram , i wanted to upgrade to 4 sticks so i bought two more sticks but accidentaly bought 3600 mhz , after a brief look online ti said there should be no problem , pc starts but nothing on loading screen when i put the new sticks in , tried different slots etc but no joy , any ideas , pc specs below

cpu - intel core i5 9600k
mobo - msi z390 ace
is it even possible for me to run this setup

Probably. Unknown at this point.


But possibly at some yet to be determined speed that you may not be happy with.

mabye i should just return and get ram with the same speed out of curiosity how would i change the speed ? computer dork here

What is your best reason that you think you need 32 gb ram total?

Or is it just "i wanted to upgrade to 4 sticks" for no particular reason?

VRAM on GPU is more important for that.

First, confirm that the new sticks work on their own.

What you can try in the BIOS is to disable XMP and run at the lowest JEDEC settings supported by either set of sticks. Save the BIOS configuration and add the second kit. If it boots at that point you can try slowly increasing the memory speed and configuring the timings up to the speeds of the slower set. With any luck that will work, if not, you are better off getting a 2x16GB memory kit.
