Help with newly built gaming PC

Hello as the title says, I built a PC for friend of mine everything went fine when using apps or surfing the web, but when he plays game it freezes and nothing work there isn't black screen just a screenshot-like of the game. He is forced to turn it off and it happened for him several times. I really need your help since I feel it could be my fault.

And Regarding the CPU cooler I’m using the one that camed with the CPU.

BIOS, Windows updates, and GPU drivers are all up to date.

I really need your help and it's much appreciated.

very good choices of parts.
I am thinking of driver issues. Has he installed all the drivers from motherboard website?
Check the temperature during games using MSI afterburner/HWinfo
I will do a clean install of OS again if temp is normal and all drivers including motherboard's are up to date
