Hey there guys! I have built a few PC's for friends lately, and now I have had a request for a system that I'm not too sure about. She has an extremely low budget, $400, and does not play any games. She simply wants a "fast" PC. Suggestions please?
MERGED QUESTION Question from thunter7891 : "Best CPU for this build?"
thunter7891 :
Hello! I am building a friend a pc, who wants a build that is new to me. Instead of a true gaming pc, she wants me to build a computer that is just "fast". Since her budget is only $400, would it be worth investing into a ~$100 cpu, or would a cheaper one work just as well?
Pentium G4560, ~$70 and is basically a Core i3 at less price.
EDIT: Put a small SSD in it too, no mechanical HDD will feel "fast".
MERGED QUESTION Question from thunter7891 : "Motherboard for Pentium G4500?"
Building a PC for a friend, she does not game and only wants it to be "fast". I have decided on a Pentium G4500, but am unsure about a motherboard. Since her budget is only $400, and will not be gaming.. should I go for a cheaper motherboard?
MERGED QUESTION Question from thunter7891 : "Build with no Graphics Card?"
thunter7891 :
Hello! I am building a PC for a friend who has wants me to build them a "fast" computer. Since she does not play games, would it be worth even investing in a GPU since her budget is only $400?
Also, what would the graphics/resolution be like without a graphics card? Dependent upon the motherboard? Sorry I have built a few computers, but are still learning exactly how they work
as long as she is using a monitor and not a tv, most cpus have some sort of on board graphics (bad or not) so yes not getting a gpu should be fine as long as she is only doing video watching, web browsing and job/school work
