Help with overclocking i5 3570k to 4.5GHz with P8Z77-V LK (first time)

Hi

So I am looking to overclock my 3570k. I have read on places that 4.5GHz is a good starting point so I've been trying to do it towards this.

I have been reading/following these two guides but I still can't seem to get it working.

After following the steps on the two sites it successfully raises the clock rate to ~4180MHz (even though in the bios I have set it to be 4500). Another thing I notice that is the voltage for VCORE is not actually changing. Throughout the entire process it remains around 1.16-1.18V, even though in the bios it's been set as 1.35V.

If anyone would be kind enough to help me through this or point me in the right direction then that'd be awesome. I've been trying to read many of the posts/guides here but with not much luck.

Sorry, my motherboard is an ASUS P8Z77-V LK. I am changing these settings directly in the BIOS.

I'll change the core multiplier to x45 and see what happens and report back here.

If any additional information is needed then please let me know.

Edit: Hmm, seems that just changing the multiplier to x45 seemed to work. When I run prime95 it runs at 4.5GHz with the voltage already raised to ~1.36V, while temps pretty much instantly hit ~72 degrees. Of course I'll have to run prime95 longer to test for stability though, I assume anything around 70 degrees is a good temp while running prime95?

I am now noticing that when idle the multiplier fluctuates between x16 and x45, changing every 5-10 seconds. Is this normal?
 
Ah alright, I current have a CM Hyper 212 Plus cooler. I may pick up a better CPU cooler if I notice the temps getting too high. One last question then. Is there any possible way of lowering temps without lowering the frequency? Something such as manually lowering the voltage while maintaining 4.5GHz?

I am just curious because after running prime95 for about 25-30mins I noticed the highest temp I hit was 82 degrees. Instead of letting it run overnight I decided that I would be better off to run it while constantly monitoring it, incase it got any hotter than that.
