Hi, I need help for a good build, I’m not knowledgable with the parts and gets confused whether the parts are compatible or not so please bear with me.
What I aim for is a 144hz 4k gaming PC, I prefer performance and optimization rather than appearance. I've done some research and narrow down some of the parts and I'd like to hear your opinions.

I have not put any price because I’m not in the US so the price may vary on where I can source the parts but feel free to put the price, If possible the price range is around 2,000 – 2,500usd, maybe maximum is around 3,000 usd. If your suggested build is over 3k please put the price so I can compare it locally.
Feel free to correct anything wrong information. I can start sourcing the parts and might be able to complete it around 2 months time. Thanks in advance!

1. CPU: Intel Core i7-9700k
  • I was reading some build posted on the forum and most if not all recommended the i7-9700k is enough and there’s no need to go overboard and for the i9 series.
  • I’m not familiar with AMD but I’ve seen a lot of recommendation of Ryzen 7, so I’m open to Ryzen 7 if you guys have any recommendation.
2.1 Intel Motherboard:
  • MSI MEG Godlike Z390 ( From what I’ve read this board is not that good for gaming)
  • Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Extreme
  • Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Ultra
  • ROG Maximus Xi APEX M11A (really expensive)
  • ROG Maximus XI HERO M11H
  • ROG Strix Z390E
From what I’ve understood the mobo should be a Z390 for i7-9700k. I’m not sure which of these is will suit my requirements so I’ve listed down some that I think
What I'm looking in a Mobo are 2 to 3 drives, 2 to 4 slots RAM, I'm open for recommendations.

2.2 AMD Motherboard:
I'm not familiar with AMD so maybe you can suggest a good MOBO.

3. GPU:
  • ROG Strix GeForce RTX2080ti O11G 1350-1665MHz 14000MHz
  • ROG Strix GeForce RTX2080ti A11G 1350-1590MHz 14000MHz
  • ROG Strix GeForce RTX2080ti 11G 1350-1560MHz 14000MHz
  • MSI GeForce RTX2080ti Gaming xTrio
  • EVGA GeForce RTX2080ti XC Ultra Gaming (double Fan)
For the GPU I would like the fans that are not too noisy and can maintain for the most part 144hz, 4k.
ROG strix for silent gaming, aside from the speed, I’m not sure what the difference of all 3 ROG RTX2080ti, will some explain this.
MSI Gaming xTrio for overclocking
EVGA XC ultra gaming best double fan cheaper than both ROG and MSI

4.1 Main Drive:
  • Samsung EVO 970 ssd 500gb / 1TB NVMe
  • Samsung EVO ssd 500gb/ 1TB SATA
Depends on the suggested Mobo, will choose either of these two.
Is it advisable to go with 1TB ssd as the main drive?

4.2 2nd Drive and/or 3rd Drive:
  • Seagate Firecuda Hybrid SSHD 2TB
  • 4TB or 6TB HDD (optional)
I've been using a hybrid SSHD as my storage drive for my laptop, I just bought it since it's cheap and I'm also using one on my ps4 pro to speed up loading time.
But I'm not sure whether using a hybrid drive has any difference to an HDD when being used as a storage drive, can some give their opinion.

5. RAM:
  • 2x 8gb RAM (Total of 16gb RAM)
  • 4x 8gb RAM (depending on the Mobo, will add more RAM in the future)
Please suggest the RAM, the initial build will be 2x 8gb RAM.

6. PSU:
  • Corsair RM series Full Modular 80plus Gold Power Supply Unit
  • Asus Strix Gaming Power Supply 80plus Gold Full Modular.
I'm not sure whether the build will require 650W, 750W or 850W. Open for other recommendations.

7. Cooling:

  • LC 240 240mm Liquid AIO CPU cooler
  • ID-Cooling Auraflow X 120, RGB Aura Sync Liquid AIO CPU cooler
I'm not knowledgable with the cooling system for the PC cause I've never used one, I've just searched these and unsure on whether or not compatible.

8. Case:

I'm totally blank with what case I will need to get, any suggestion on a good airflow case?

1) Chose CPU for superior streaming performance to a 9700k. Gaming performance between Ryzen 7 and i7 when not streaming will be identical due to GPU limitation.
2)This is an inexpensive RGB 240mm AIO. You can opt to use the stock RGB cooler included with the Ryzen 7 if you need to shave off some money.
3)This motherboard is a decent one compatable with the Ryzen 7 3700x. It has 4 ram slots, good power delivery, 2 M.2 slots, and wifi.
4)This ram is fast and a good capacity.
5)Why buy a small NVME SSD and SATA SSD when you can buy 1 larger NVME SSD.
6)Just a cheap but decent 3tb 7200rpm HDD. SSHDDs dont add much on top of a normal HDD, other than cost.
7)A decent ASUS RTX2080ti. You will need as much GPU as possible to run 144hz 4k. TBH no current GPU can run 144hz 4k very well at all.
8)The Fractal Design Meshify C has a lot of premium features and the mesh front allows for great airflow.
9) The Corsair RMx lineup of PSUs are great, and so are the RM units without the x. 650w or more is fine for a high-end CPU and single 2080ti.

When streaming the Ryzen 7 3700x (or even a 12 core Ryzen 9 3900x) would have an advantage over the I7 9700k. The Ryzen 7 has more threads.

Can you recommend an ATX Mobo for the Ryzen 7?
Budget and performance-wise is Ryzen 7 3700x better than Ryzen 7 3800x or should I spend a little bit more and get Ryzen 7 3800x for better performance?

5. I was thinking by having 2 separate drives it is easier to swap my main drive to a larger capacity drive because I have a history of accidentally wiping the contents of old my drive during copying and upgrading. So the other drive will be used as a backup.

7. I see, as long I can max out the GPU usage and the GPU can deliver then I think it's probably enough. If there a difference is I go with the triple fan?

Thank you for the recommendation.

Not really.

Ok that could work. You can go with your original 970+960 combo if you want.
