I had a gtx 1060 6gb installed in my pc worked fine. I then removed it and installed an old gtx 780 to test it for a friend worked fine I updated the drivers on my pc with the gtx 780 installed. The I then removed the 780 and inserted the 1060 it posted bios and was in the process of booting to windows then the screen remained black. What is going on?
Edit* re-installed the 780 pc works fine so it's not anything with the 780 power supply or motherboard. I'm guessing it's software but what do I do to fix it?

I removed the gtx 1060 and re connected everything and it still does the same thing. So it's software or the 1060 which makes no sense to me as it is brand new was just working prior to the switch and update and was not dropped or mis handled in anyway. The only other thing different in the 4K monitor which the 1060 worked fine on for days.

This is where my very limited pc experience comes into play.... what exactly do I do for that. Do I keep the 780 in and uninstall the GeForce graphics divers? Or what?

Alright I'll give that a go. Another dumb question for you where exactly is the DDU I'm asumeing it's an acronym for something maybe display driver utility? As I've said I'm not that great at anything software wise or basic knowledge. I had a friend set up everything for me.

Ah I was assuming that. Seems like a lot of trouble that's not needed for switching cards. Guess 2017 is still not a bug free year. It says on the page I can try to uninstall from the control panel do I try this first.

Well I read the guru3d page and it said as a last resort if it doesn't work from control panel but is it better to skip step I don't like installing programs that I don't need on my pc.
