Help with PC tower placement.

I really didn't know which category to put this under so I put it under Tutorials.

I currently have a mid tower case that can barely fit under my desk and I'm planning to get a new one. The new one I'm getting is much bigger than the one I have now. I've researched putting the tower on the carpet (floor) but they don't recommend that. Is there some kind of "platform" I can put the tower on so it's not touching the carpet?

Or plank of pine wood and cut to size is what i'd do.

a peice of cardboard will do, cheap, easy to cut and you prob dont have to spend any money
