Hello,
I'm having issues with my PCMCIA network card on my Windows 95 laptop. The card worked just fine for a while, but after reinstalling Windows I have a problem. In Device Manager the PCMCIA socket shows up and it says it's working properly, but when I insert my network card (which is a Netgear MA401), whether doing it before turning the PC on or not, almost all of the time no light comes on, and in the PCMCIA card manager the socket shows up as empty. I have gotten it to work a few times (I don't know what I did differently, so basically sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn't) so I have all of the necessary drivers installed. Interestingly enough when I remove the card I hear the tone letting me know that a PCMCIA card has been removed. I've inspected the PCMCIA slots (both of them) and none of the pins are missing or bent.
So, what could be the issue? Wrong drivers, a broken PCMCIA card, or something else? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Windows_95_XP
