Hi, i am buying new TV, but I was thinking if i should buy NON smart TV or Smart TV, but the catch with this smart TV's that application lag... and it takes ages to open, especially with older android installed. So i was thinking of buying used 4k TV and than buying good media streaming box. Or older non smart TV and really good streaming android box which i could control easy and with more performence. What do you think.

also my budget is 400€, Thanks for answers!

Is there even such a thing as a 4k "non" smart tv? If the apps are laggy and you'd be fine without the "smart" part, then just don't use the apps. I bought a Sony last year and the android could be a bit more responsive admittedly but it's a far cry from "ages to open".

You might want to look at a TCL roku tv.

I know every modern TV has this integrated SMART TV inside but it's laggy and buggy, so for solution i would buy high end android box and play everything for it so i wouldn't want to overpay smart tv if it isn't necesary because i will not use integrated smart apps but apps from TV box.

I don't think the android system on a smart tv really affects the price much. Most of what you're paying for is the quality of the picture, better image processors, HDR support. If you don't need a built in tv tuner there are some that are just monitors and are a little cheaper. TCL I think is one of them, Visio also makes a nice 55" monitor for a good price. But for only 400, you're only going to find a mid-range quality 55" at best.

In other words, just find a tv that looks good to you and ignore whatever features/apps are advertised with it because you're not going to find one without apps on it and will pay for it one way or the other.

OP, your thinking is about 2 years old. As everybody say, all modern TV come with "smarts." Vendors have stopped to charge you extra$ for a smart label.

Solid advice above. Buy TV because picture is good, response time, brightness blah-blah, and budget extra for the external stream box/stick just in case.

Got myself a TCL6 Roku TV (TCL6 only available in the U.S.) and the apps feel decent, much better than my el-cheapo, 2015 Sony, and finding no need, at least for now (3 month) to attach an external streamer.

How do you know every modern tv is laggy and buggy? Have you personally tested every TV?

A €400 budget really limits your choices. Just buy whatever TV is on sale.
