Ok, I am about to purchase a CDRW SCSI within the next week, the difficulty in this decission is there are so many good models and features its very hard to know whats best. I need a quality CDRW to be able to write and read everthing worth copying with ease of use.

I have a listed the models being considered for purchase:
-------
1.Plextor PXW1210TS 12/10/32 SCSI internal.
2.Yamaha CRW2200SZ 20/10/40 SCSI internal.
3.Yamaha CRW2100SZ 16/10/40 SCSI internal.
4.ANY other suggestions? Price is not an issue.

Alright, I need some good quality advice for the above explaining briefly why one is better than the other?

-------
What drive would I need to accompany the above for fast copying of CD to CD for everything from programs, music, movies etc in a SCSI internal drive?

Thanks in advance.

The Plextor may not be the best value, but if you want unparalleled reliability, then I think that's the way to go. Yamaha also has a good reputation; it's just that they don't seem to be as reliable as Plextors.

One nice thing about the Yamaha SCSIs (not sure if it's all models, or a certain one), is that it's actually an IDE drive with an adapter. Wait...that's kind of a bad thing, too.
Anyhow, you can use it as IDE down the road if you want to.

Plextor is about the best brand of CD burner around, although they don't usually have the most features.

Ok, I like both the Plextor and Yamaha, reliability aside which of the mentioned two CDRW’s has the better software/features and possible ease of use?

Basically I want to copy/transfer everything from music, DVD’s, storage, home video and programs on SCSI only, so I will need another optical drive and I don't really know what two drives I need to get this together?
Any advice will be helpful

Thanks to all who replied so far.

That SCSI/IDE CDRW is the CRW2200SZ, not applicable to earlier models and Iam not sure about the CRW3200 series thats due out soon though. Thats how I read it anyway..

the only scsi rewritable drive capable of reading and writing all protections is the 8/2/20 TLA #0100, but it has probs burning audio cd that can be read in sony and kenwood cd players, like all plexwriters up to the 8/4/32.

YOu should get no other than an atapi european OEM or retail plextor 24/10/40a retail kit. it is the only drive capable of reading and writing everything, and while they're may be probs with it, I don't know of any yet and it can read and write all protections, unlike every other atapi drive out there.
