hi im testing my q6600 at 3.6ghz (9x400) and prime gave me an error after just 11 min.
the weird thing is it did not shut the computer down, it just gave an error and 2 of the cores stopped testing.
does anybody know what this is?
my voltages are:

Vcore: 1.45v
CPU VTT: 1.47v
NB Core: 1.33v (i think this might not be enough and ocld be the cause of the problem but i dont know)
RAM: 2.05v

my temps are kinda high but i guess that because of the high voltage they are in the low 60's under prime load...

thanks in advance...

Well, 3.6Ghz is a fairly high overclock for a Q6600 on air. You may not get it stable. You probably need to increase both the NB voltage and cpu Vcore. Try just the nb first. I don't know exactly what vtt does. The ram should be set to whatever the manufacturer's spec says. But to get this stable, you'll need good cooling. And since you are already in the 60's I doubt you will.

i got 61 degress maximum with my xigmatek 1283 i dont think thats too much...
yeah i was thinking about raising the nb voltage bc if my vcore wasnt enough it would shut down instead of getting an error when stress testing...
do u have any idea how much should i raise my nb's voltage?

you didnt just set it to 3.6 to start with did you? :ange:

Raise your core voltage a bit more. The voltage requirement goes up exponentially as you increase your frequency; I need 1.29 to get 3.2, so 3.6 will probably take something over 1.5v.

Although I can't see WHY you would need 3.6...

from the way his post was written, i would say that he did.

@nice guy u have to start smaller than 400x9. try maybe 333x9 or even 300x9 which will give u 3.0 ghz and 2.7 ghz, respectively. i had my q6600 stable at 300x9 with only 1.237 vcore and 333x9 with 1.281 vcore. i havent even tried 400x9 myself yet..

i did go step by step 3.0, 3.2 3.4 3.6 all very stable ecept for the last one... i tested on 3.4 for 9 hours stable so please dont make stpid asumptions...

then why ask a "stupid" question to start with?

you want help? then take the questions and answers as advice and thank us that we helped you, not shovel those words back at us.
