Help with QUADRO cards

I need help understanding the point of quadro cards. I read that when you render you use only cpu, if this is true then what is the point of buying a quadro card for work software like after effects and c4d or 3ds max?

I use PowerDirector for rendering videos. It uses 'Hardware Acceleration' which uses both my gtx 670's to assist rendering.

A lot of software now uses hardware acceleration.

Quadro cards are made for doing accurate maths calculations eg mesh frameworks in 3D models. They don't usually have a lot of CUDA cores - for graphical data processing. These would help with rendering.
