I need some advice about ram, right now i have 16gb of ram and i want to upgrade to 32gb or maybe 64gb if its worth it to do.
my specs are
MOBO-Z170A Gaming M5
CPU-i5-6600K CPU @ 3.50GHz
the ram i currently have installed is 16gb of GSKILL RIPJAW DDR4 CL 15-15-15-35 1.25v that is overclocked with the XMP feature to 2800MHz, can someone please point me in the right direction as to what ram i can get for this system, i bought some GSKILL RIPJAW DDR4-3600MHz that i cant overclock to advertised settings, after reading about my CPU i don't think it will support that speed, they will run at 2.666MHz just cant use the XMP. Any help would be much appreciated. The computer is used mostly for gaming, sim racing and DCS which from what ive read the more ram the better.

Your motherboard states it can XMP/OC to 3600.

Download CPU-Z and go to the SPD tab. You will see a chart with the RAM reported JEDEC and XMP speeds, timings and voltage. Go into BIOS and set those speeds, timings voltage from the bottom and then faster until the system isn't stable and back off one.

Thanks for the reply, i knew that the MOBO supported those speeds thats why i bought the ram, when i tried the ram and hit the XMP button i kept getting a message that it was reset to default settings, but i will try your suggestion in a bit and post my findings, Thanks again for the help!!

To be fair, on 'ark' the 6600K is only looking for 2133. There may or may not be any notable differences aside from possible instability moving farther away from that speed.
I saw that also but im an idiot when it comes to tech stuff.
