[SOLVED] Help with Rufus and DBAN.

Do I have to format the usb to ntfs or fat32? I tried fat32 and although the usb was recognized and able to boot, when I tried to run it I get an error message.

You should not have to format a USB drive before using Rufus to write an image to it. Rufus will take care of that for you.

It is possible that your write process was corrupted or there could be an issue with the USB drive itself. Have you tried downloading the source file again, or an alternate USB drive?
