Question Help with secondary hard drive not always be available in windows

As the title suggests... My secondary hard drive is not always showing up in windows. At first, I just assumed it had just given up on life but the strange thing is, is that if I load into the bios first and see it's actually recognised , it will then appear in my drive list in windows. I have no issues using the hard drive when it's there in windows, it's not slower than usual, everything is accessible etc. It will just not appear unless I boot into the bios first. Any suggestions?

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS.

How are the drives (boot and secondary) currently connected?
