Hi; I've been reading other forum posts but still a bit confused. Here is a picture of the hub in my closet: http://imgur.com/a/7abk7 . My router/modem is connected in the living room to a co-ax cable in the living room. What I've attempted so far is to use a patch cord to plug the router into an ethernet port into the living room wall. Next, I hooked up my PC and tried plugging in each of the black ports in the hub; none of them gave me a connection. My plan was to find the port for the living room, then use another cable to connect that living room to the corresponding port that connects to the bedroom. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

So, just so I make sure I'm understanding....

In>Coax>Router. You can connect an Cat5e cable from your router to a device directly and connect to the internet?

You want to run Router>wired ethernet through your home>device X?

But then, connecting ethernet to wall outlet, no signal is received in any port on the "hub"?

How old is the house? Give in the Coax runs through a splitter from one "in" to 6 "out", I assume your bedroom is presently wired for Coax?

For some reason, a living room port wasn't working...once I plugged my router into the adjacent port my pc became connected. Thanks for your help...now I jsut gotta figure out why my ethernet is 20x slower than my wifi...
