I want to build up a new desktop PC to myself. It has to be robust, but no need to be cutting edge. I mainly use if for games and some 3D applications. Because I live in a country where technology costs a lot because of taxes, I would like to have 2 alternatives, one Intel based and the other AMD based. I have no intention to overclock it. Could you please help me out? Thanks and regards.

Parts from major manufacturers can be found in the local markets, but I am not sure if they will correspond to the same models found elsewhere. The latest models are not easily found, but one or two behind the latest I believe shouldn't be too hard to find. Also, components, such as water cooling systems are hard to find and also very expensive. Regarding prices, the rule is, US retail price x 2.

So far, following the help from someone else, I am thinking about the following Intel based configuration.

1x PLEXTOR 24X DVD/CD Writer Black SATA Model PX-880SA
1x COOLER MASTER HAF 932 RC-932-KKN1-GP Black Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Retail
3x Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST31000528AS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
2x SAPPHIRE 100283-2L Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
1x Antec TruePower New TP-750 Blue 750W Continuous Power ATX12V V2.3 / EPS12V V2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE
2x CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TR3X6G1600C8D
1x COOLER MASTER R4-L2R-20CR-GP 120mm Red LED Case Fan
1x ASUS P6T6 WS Revolution with NF200 3xPCIe true x16 LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard
1x Intel Core i7-920 Bloomfield 2.66GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor Model BX80601920

Psoto, that is a very decent build you have projected, i would consider an aftermarket heatsink/fan as well as getting a different Power Supply, maybe a Corsair or PC Power & Cooling. anything from those brands will last a while and you shouldn't really need to go past 650 watts as anything more would be overkill.
