heya fellow componenteurs,

i recently put together an i5 9th gen/asus tuff z390 gaming/trident royal z rig.

i reused my older samsung ssd drives (same operating system) and evga 780 gtx classified.

everything came together perfectly, except this.

the ram has led lights on it. but only one of the ram sticks works. i switched them and found out that it's actually the slot, which confused the heck out of me. all drivers are up to date, and the software to control the led on the ram (from gskillz) works perfectly for the one stick that's working.

ideas?

thanks so much in advance for your help!

Solution
Oh okay. Your op made me think it flat didn't work. I'd definitely RMA the ram for something working as that's a giant premium for that look.

not that i'm opposed to it, but just curious, how would loosening (or tightening) the cpu cooler affect the LED lights on the ram? thanks for your help :D

so i think one of hte stick's LEDs are defective. i switched them around, and the same one keeps not lighting up. the RAM itself is fine, it's just the visuals...but that's what i paid extra for!
