[SOLVED] Help with upgrading MSI laptop storage

Hi, hopefully this is an acceptable post

I found that I'm running extremely low on storage space for both my SSD and HDD. I have a GP63 8RF, the included SSD of which only had 128gb.

Unfortunately, I'm not very familiar with upgrading memory on laptops, and the online forums just made me more confused; obviously I don't want to purchase the wrong type of drive! Sorry for my ignorance on this

In short: if I want to upgrade the included 128 gb drive, what kind of drive should I purchase?

Apparently there's another slot open for another SSD, what kind of drive should I purchase for that, and are there any restrictions on storage capacity or anything (someone in the forum post said "So you will not be able to use it after you've installed one with a larger capacity into the first slot.")?

Additionally, what kind of cables (USB to SATA III or whatever) would I need?

Based on the specification page:

• If you are replacing the current SSD, you need an M.2 NVME (PCIe) SSD. Such as a Crucial P1, Intel 660p, Samsung 970 Evo etc.
• If you are adding into the combo slot, then you need an M.2 NVME OR SATA SSD (either).

So in a very short way, you can theoretically get any M.2 SSD.
