I want to sell my custom built system I put together in 2014. Just want to switch it out to a decent laptop since I don't play games anymore. I'd greatly appreciate if someone could help me price it for the used PC market, and perhaps recommend a decent laptop in the price range my computer would sell for.

Here's my current build: Microsoft Windows 10

Processor: Intel Core i5-4670k CPU @3.40ghz

Mobo: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. Z87-C (SOCKET 1150)

RAM: Corsair Vengeance Blue 8 GB (2X4 GB) PC3-12800 1600mHz DDR3

Graphics: SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7950 DirectX 11 100352-2L 3GB 384-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

HD: 120gb SSD & 3TB SATA

CD ROM: ASUS DRW-24B1ST

PSU: EVGA SUPERNOVA 750B2 750 watt Bronze (80plusbronze)

CASE: Corsair Carbide Series Black 400R Mid Tower Computer Case

MONITOR: SAMSUNG 2494SW Glossy Black 24"

With the advancements in the last year especially, the price of used components has come down quite a lot.

For example, I'd expect an i5-4670K + MB + Cooler + 2x8GB to sell somewhere in the $220-$250 range.
An HD7950 would appear to sell for $100-$150 on eBay right now

The PSU, $40 seems pretty fair.

The monitor has sold for as low as $40

A used 3TB drive in good health, maybe $50........... A 120GB SSD, not a whole lot. $20-$25 maybe.

Parting it out, I'd expect $500 or so. As a completed rig, it general commands less.... maybe $400 or so....... maybe throwing the case in to seal the deal nearer the $500 mark.

As for a "decent" laptop in the rough pricerange.....
I wouldn't look to anything less than a "true" quad core i5 and a GTX1050.... ideally, 1050TI as a minimum.

Best I've found price-wise is around $600-650

Great! I'll put it up for sale today. I like the laptop you suggested but it might be a bit too much for what I need. I don't plan on gaming really, if anything, I'd probably play some light performance demanding games. How about something for general PC use and light gaming? maybe around the 500$ range. If that Acer is worth it regardless, I might just buy that.
