Today I got my MSI Radeon R9 380 Gaming 4G gpu.
I put it in the computer and everything is hooked in fine, except that I can only plug in one power connector because I only have one available (they recommend both, but that's not an option for me, but I would think it wouldn't even power up if power was the issue ??)
I installed all drivers, using the CD and downloading from the website.
I even used a utility to wipe off all my old drivers and then reinstall them.
I also updated my BIOS just in case.
Despite all these things, the card will not detect.
Nothing in device manager, nothing in dxdiag, and when I plug in my monitor to the card via HDMI and load it up, no signal.
The card is fully powered up and the lights are on and everything, it's just not being detected.

I appreciate any help you guys can give! Thank you.

Here are my specs:
ASRock H97M Pro4
Intel Core i5 4460
Intel HD Graphics 4600 (internal gpu) and MSI Radeon R9 380 Gaming 4G as the gpu I'm trying to put in
Windows 7 Professional
Corsair CX600

Solution
Yes it will act just like that. Even finding a 4pin molex to PCIE cable thing for a few bucks, or even free at some local computer shop if you smile, would work.

Besides that, how does a CX600 not have enough connectors anyway?

So does that mean it could be under powered?

It would behave like that without sufficient power?

Yeah, so it turns out there WAS another 6pin. It was really hiding there.
That's the good news. The fans are now working.

Bad news though, is it's still not detecting the card in device manager...still need to figure out how to fix that.

Btw the box says it requires two 75w PCIe 6pin connectors.....150w

Okay, got the card to work in the 2.0 port :)

But it will not run on the 3.0, any ideas on why?

I have had PCIE 3.0 issues myself. The better way is to go into BIOS and change the PCIE Link Speed from Auto to Gen2 and put the card back in the first slot.

You should make sure the "Initial Display Output" is set to Auto or PCIE1 also. Do note that if you put it on PCIE1 the integrated gfx will not be used anymore, and you will have to clear CMOS to reset that setting.

Which together with the 75w from the PCIe slot makes...

Right, but it's up and running now that it has the second connector.
