I recently built a computer and I believe that I downloaded a virus on accident. Whenever I click on something it sends me to a link where it says I need to contact Microsoft and blah blah blah. It is a tech support scam. Anyways when I tried to reset my pc and nothing would happen when I tried to reset it I believe that is because of a virus. So I went to my bios and put it in the windows 10 usb stick and reset my pc. But it said that windows could not remove all my personal files...what does that mean??? Is the virus too strong?

Solution
Hey xRaidant, sorry to hear your having trouble with your computer build. Malware can definitely cause you some trouble when trying to reset the PC, primarily because not only is your operating system compromised but as well as your registry. If the registry is compromised you can expect problems trying to refresh or reset the PC. A option you can try is to format your hard drive to entirely wipe it for a fresh install. You can use the command prompt at the WIN10 advanced options menu for troubleshooting to format the drive. You can use google on a how-to-format the drive using command prompt if you have trouble. After your format, you can use the WIN10 USB stick to bring you back to the options to RESET the PC. Please get back to me on...
