Hi
I am overclocking my I7 8700k to 4.8 gig using 1.215v in the bios , what should i look for in CPUID HW monitor for my voltage? would it come under VCORE or under I7 8700k Voltages VID 0-5 ? .. reason is under VCORE its saying 1.224 (expected) and under the VIDs its going in the 1.3 range ....
Thanks
Rich

Solution
VID (Voltage Identification) is a fixed value set at the factory. That is how much voltage the CPU is wanting to have. Likely to meet all possible operating conditions Intel has a test for. So that would include AVX instruction sets.

You can certainly ignore it and see what the limits are under your own use cases. Save a little temperature that way.
