Help with windows 10 re-install after upgrade

I am upgrading from FX to Ryzen, which means a full swap of everything.

Real quick..I bought a cyberpower pc, then came into some free parts so I basically built a new computer only using the optical drive, PSU and hard drive with windows from cyberpc..when I did that windows was on hard drive and I had to call microsoft to activate again

I am adding a SSD this time around..so question..should I install windows 10 on the SSD and reformat other drive before I actually swap things out or should I do that after..I don't have the product key so will have to call them up again, hoping it will work after 2 hardware swaps..

Which way would be easier?

For the OS license key, read and do this before changing any parts:

For the OS install on the SSD....you do this after the parts swap.
And install on the SSD with only the SSD connected. Reconnect the other drive later.
