So I'm writing a paper right now in Word 2016 and it seems like every other phrase I type is coming up underlined dashed red, because it isn't clear and concise according to Microsoft. The thing is, sometimes you have to use passive voice in a paper, and Word flags just about anything written in passive voice as not being clear and concise. The red underlines are driving me literally insane and this paper is going to take forever if I have to highlight and hit ignore on every single instance. Does anyone know how to turn off this clear and concise language bull**** that Microsoft has on here without turning off the normal spellcheck?

tl;dr
How do you turn off the "Clear and Concise" suggestions on Word 2016 without turning off spellcheck as well?

For anyone that didn't get help from that link...in Word go to file --> options --> proofing. Then under When correcting spelling and grammar in Word:
next to writing style it will have a button for Settings. Click that then scroll down to clarity and conciseness and uncheck whatever you want. Unchecking passive voice should solve most of your problems.

"Wordiness" is also another problem you can uncheck as word underlines with blue and comes up with its own suggestion. My advice is to uncheck it and when you are done writing, you turn it on to help you make your writing concise. Wordiness can sometimes reduce your standard in writing so a last pass-through with Wordiness check is really going to come in handy.
