This problem occured while trying to upgrade the Pavilion to XP...
I wrote a backup disc of data (favorites, etc) before f-disking my computer.
When doing the reinstall, I put the backup disc in and it appeared as a
blank cd. There is another computer in the house, can I possibly make
another, usable cd to recover from this?
Thanks,
Windy

There's probably new driver software required for XP to make it fully
functional. CD drives can read cdr disks without added software, but
need their own drivers for other functions.

Sure, if it can read the cdrw format. Just copy to a tmp directory,
and burn to cdr (or floppy if it fits).
