i went to completly start my computer over with windows xp home which it
had origionlly, and after it was done, i was missing important software
and im not able to connect to the internet, or change my resolution, is
there a way to fix this or some software i can bring over to that comp
on a cd or something, right now its basiclly pointless for me...

Hi Matt

You probably lost your video drivers when you re-installed XP and you have
lost your internet details. Call your internet provider and ask them for your
account details. At least that was you can get on the net and find the
correct drivers for your video card.

First, fix the video problem ... download the latest drivers for your
video card and install them. Get them from either the PC manufacturer's
web site or the video card manufacturer's web site.

Then boot, open Device Manager and find out what other piece(s) of
hardware (modem, NIC) you need drivers for.

Obviously, to d/l these drivers you'll need a working PC and some way
(USB mem stick, CD, floppy) to get the new drivers to the broken PC.
