Check to see if the sound card drivers are installed
right click MyComputer/properties/hardware/devicemanager
look under the sound etc tab
anything thats missing a driver should be marked with an exclamation usually
in red.
If that is the case dig out the CD that came with your sound card or
computer system and look for the drivers on the CD.
then install them...usually an .exe file.
The other way would be for you to right click the offending device and then
Update driver....at which point you will have to point the driver wizard to
the CD or let it find the drivers on the WEB.
