Help!

I`ve this damn f*cking problem:
When i tried accessing a specific file, my hard Disk (IBM DESK STar 30gb with less than 6 months), starts making a wierd noise, and my computer crashes... I unfortunatly must presume that`s something wrong with that portion of the HD, i was going to make a Throught Scan, to look for bad sectors, but Win2k doens`t has scandisk... any help?

Win2k has chkdsk, witch is basicaly the same thing...

Open up my computer, right click on the drive go to propertys, go under tools, and run it. If its on your system or boot partition you may have to re-boot for it to run.
