Help!

I have recently got a new system:

Athlon 1.2 - Chaintech CT - 7AJA2
128 ram
Geforce2 32mb MX
Memorex DVD and CDRW
41gb Ericcson HDD 7400rpm

When I go to install Win 2k it gets to the point where it checks for devices - keyboard, mouse etc. Then it crashes half way through and says 'Hardware Malfunction'.
I've contacted Memorex about compatibility with the drives and they say they work ok.

The installation worked fine on my other P3 450 but not on a brand new system...

Anyone any ideas on what's wrong?

Take out everything but the absolute necessary. If you have you have a problem with the DVD/CDRW, take them out, and install off a cdrom. After the installation, you can put it back. Or even take the harddrive out and put it in the P3 450, install on the 450 then swap the harddrive back

I have sorted it now...

I loaded fail safe settings in bios and it worked ok...

wouldnt recommend installing on one system and moving the hard drive. bad bad things happen.

oh yea, and you really should have gone with a better motherboard, you most likely wouldnt have had any problems then.
