Hello,i have a acer extensa 5220, i cant get past password prompt as i cant remember password, i want to reset to factory settings,i have not used laptop for a year.

Use the restore CD and format, or boot into safe mode login as administrator thats if you havnt got it disabled and reset the password that way.
