My son and I are trying very hard to figure out how we can get a 2 player
game going between us. This far with no luck.

When we try the Battle.net option under "Multiplayer", we get the message
"Unable to connect to Battle.net. You may be trying to connect to an invalid
Battle.net server. If using a modem, you may need to manually connect to the
internet before connecting to Battle.net. For more information, go to
www.battle.net/support/errormessages" - We're connected to the internet
through a wireless gateway already.

I've got the desktop and the laptop hooked up through the USB ports with a
double-ended "male" cable.

What am I doing wrong?

The problem is that Battle.net is an internet service, which means both
computers have to be on the internet.

There's also a local area network multiplayer-mode, which would probably
work better (I don't know what protocol your USB connection uses, but if
it's TCP/IP it should be just fine).

Oh well, try with the LAN mode, and if that doesn't work you could
probably but a cheap hub with at least 2 ports, and then hook both
computers up with it. Then there should be no problem at all.

Good luck.

Uhmn... this sounds interesting and I think we had not covered this topic
yet.

With the wireless LAN setup, are you able to play between these two
computers? I mean like 1v1 LAN?
