Do you have an OpenGL video driver loaded? The game requires it. What
video card do you have?

Dan, thank you....

How can I tell if it is loaded???

(sigh). If you have to ask, you probably don't have it loaded. Go into
the Control Panel, Display, Properties and see what driver is loaded. If
it's from Microsoft, it's not the right one. Of course, you didn't answer
the other part of my question, which was which video card you have.

You have to provide some information if you expect some help...

Not completely sure, but this sounds like an onboard (built into the
motherboard) video card. If so, I highly doubt it is capable of playing
an OpenGL game like RTCW.

I'm not going to do the work for you, but if I were you, I'd plug the
information into Google and see what I could find out about the card's
abilities, and maybe even find a driver for it.

Do you know how to use Google?

If you are using the default Windows drivers you will not have an OpenGL
driver loaded.

As I don't know which version of Windows you are using I've assumed it's Win
2K or XP. Here's a link to download the driver:

Only if you happen to play on the AGW server and I'm around ... not had much
chance to play games in a while.

sounds like maybe theres a problem with your graphics card, or you dont have
the latest version of directx (www.microsoft.com/directx) try upgrading
both, or look on the internet for switches for the game which allow you to
play in d3d rather than open gl. good luck with that

RtCW and ET do not have a D3D mode. IIRC only DirectInput is used from the
DX libraries. OpenGL support is not dependent upon DX, it's part of the
graphics card driver support - and most (if not all) of the drivers that
ship with the MS OS's don't include OpenGL support (because MS want game
developers to switch to DX and so by not providing the OpenGL version of the
drivers in the Windows installation it makes it more attractive to move the
graphics engine to D3D so it's less hassle for the end user - although
Windows 2K and XP do ship with the OpenGL subsystem from Microsoft, but
still need the graphics drivers to have OpenGL support to send the
instructions).
