Hello,
i have an asus /hp mother board with an e5300 cpu 2.6 ghz, chip. can i swap it out with a 3.40 mhz chip? the board is an ipibl-lb thank you

I don't know what motherboard you've got on your pc as you didn't make very clear, however the e5300 is a lga775 processor, so as long as this 3.40 MHz chip is LGA775 also, you'll be fine.

Notlim, the processor he referenced is a Pentium 4 550 3.4 GHz, which is a massive downgrade from what he already has. So sure he can switch it out.

But I wouldn't, lol.
