Hi guys
I'm new to this stuff
I have about 12 hard drives
how can i put them together and use as one

Need more details on this, but outside of specific server environment, or specialized hardware RAID controller/box this isn't going to happen. Consumer motherboards, at least modetn, may handle 4 or 6 perhaps from software RAID.

Agreed. You're going to be hard pressed to find a hardware solution that accommodates 12 hard drives. If you do, though, you could look into a JBOD (Just a Bunch Of Disks) RAID solution.

Look into an ibm m1015 that has been flashed to IT mode. They should be $50. Make sure he board itself is green and not yellow.
It will act as an ordinary 8 port Sata adapter and then also using your motherboard ports you can use Windows Storage Spaces to create a volume using all 12 drives.

Freenas guys love these cards.

Look into an ibm m1015 that has been flashed to IT mode. They should be $50. Make sure he board itself is green and not yellow.
