I build a pc recently and it looks like we plugged the reset switch wrong

When we clicked it nothing happened (like nothing fried on the board and also nothing happened like it didn't reset the pc)

Is it ok if I leave it like this or it could damage in the long run

Like does a reset switch being plugged on the wrong pin even damage a pc?

Mis-connecting front panel connectors is common. The reset switch only works when connected to the proper two pins (else it can't complete the circuit when the button is pressed).

Your motherboard manual will tell you which pins to use.

So it won’t fry anything is what you’re saying?

Two easy examples include your power button and reset button. When connected to the correct pins, pressing the button sends a signal to the motherboard to either power on or reset.

If connected to only one of the correct pins and another incorrect pin, the signal isn't sent and nothing happens.
Thanks you helped me allot
