Question HELP!

I just got an rx6600 today, I was so happy, I ve been struggling with it for around 4-5 hours, I don t know what to do, I tried playing callisto protocol, a gameplay with stutters, at the end a crash, fortnite is drawing 20-50w of power with a low usage, the crew 2, also stutters, if I had more games I would have more problems, I am thinking of returning it and getting the rtx 3060, since it s just 100 dollars more, but then I have to worry about bottlenecking since I have an i5 8500, any solutions to how I can fix my rx6600?

Rx 6600 isn’t much slower than the 3060. First things first, what are the full system specs? Especially the make model and wattage of the power supply?

I never played Callisto Protocol, but what I remember from reading reviews is that it even caused quite some stutters on high end systems. I remember that some of the reviews would have been better if it would run stutter free. Don't know about the current state of the game's performance. Did you try it with some other games?

what kind of screen and resolution are you using?

I haven't played that game either but ran across this. From looking at the minimum requirements the i5 8400 is the minimum they want. The 8500 doesn't look to be too far ahead of the 8400 so your cpu could be struggling if you've got things open.

the crew 2 also stutters, also I played like 5 minutes, idk if I needed to play more, but fortnite is very interesting it uses 20-30% of the gpu and cpu and 20-30w of power, I am running at 1920x1080

I solved the issue, I had to set the power plan settings to ultimate performance, to a clean uninstall with ddu to the nvidia drivers and amd drivers, anyone with this problem should do this

Good deal. Sometimes those issues can be weird. I had a lot of trails etc with my new rtx 3080 and a newish monitor. Finally figured out that because I’d turned on desktop scaling to 125% to make text a bit bigger that apparently the scaling must have been getting applied during games. Took a while to figure that one out.
