Here is what is currently in my system:

Antec SX1030
Athlon Thunderbird 12oomhz/266fsb
ASUS V 133 Motherboard
IBM Deskstar 60gxp 40gb hard drive
ASUS V7700 gefore2 GTS/32mb DDR
Pioneer 16x slot-load dvd drive.

I have tried formatting two 20gb partitions, one 40gb partition, and one 4gb+one 36gb. Once I fdisk it, i boot up with my win98se cd. It then tries to install windows but says it cannot format the hard drive. I am stuck!

Has anyone had the same type of experience? Can anyone offer me any advice? I appreciate it, thanks...

Before you can install the operating system, you must format the drive. Use the same boot disk you used to FDISK the HDD. Instead of running FDISK type FORMAT C: and press enter. If you have created other logical drives, format them the same way, type FORMAT D:, E: etc. After the drives are formated, then install the operating system.

I like the idea of having a 4G c: drive and a 36G d: drive.
